LONDON. October 28, 1999 - Guillemot is pleased to announce its acquisition of American manufacturer Hercules Computer Technology Inc. This purchase allows Guillemot Corporation to combine its 3D technological know-how with a first rate brand, enabling the company to increase its rate of international development substantially.

"Our objective in acquiring Hercules was to reinforce our products branding worldwide", explains Claude Guillemot, President of Guillemot Corporation. "We intend to continue to build on Hercules’ name for high performance graphic products".

Established in 1982, Hercules Computer Technology Inc. can be credited with starting the PC graphics add-in board business. Hercules created, manufactured and marketed graphics cards and 3D accelerators throughout the world. In 1998, the company had a turnover of $20 million (US) and its status and product positioning in high-end graphics market ensured worldwide notoriety with PC users and system builders.

Guillemot is planning to revitalise Hercules’ business to what it was in the past through significant capital and R&D backing, therefore all assets obtained in this transaction including brand name, patents and designs will be enhanced to meet our consumers needs.

Guillemot Corporation has acquired all assets of Hercules Computer Technology Inc, including the brand name, all designs and patents, business funds, stocks and receivables for 1,5 million US$.
